! entrance hall !when you enter salem for the first time, this is the first cavernous area that you will see upon stepping inside. to your left, you see a staircase carved purely of marble which will lead to the upper levels of the school, and on the right you see the entrance to the sorting and dining hall. ! the dungeons !from the entrance hall, you take the door to the right of the marble staircase and go down by torch light to the depths of the dungeons--whether in search of the kitchens or the samhain common room if your choice. its rather cold and damp down here, but you make due on your journey down the stairs by rubbing at your arms. ! the dining hall !on the right side of the entrance hall, there is a large archway that you are to be ushered through for sorting and the feast. all feasts held for the students and staff of the school are to be held here, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day and the sorting ceremony at the beginning of each term. ! room of requirement !when a student enters the room of requirement, it appears as they would most like or need for it to be at that moment. one must enter by approaching the blank expanse of wall and pacing in front of it three times, back and forth, and thinking your request to yourself, and then a large door will appear for you to enter through. |

! the trial by fire tavern !after leaving salem witches institute, the little town of witch's cross is only two miles down the stretch of road in the opposite direction of rural salem--where the muggles reside--and is filled with all sorts of shops commemorating the hardships of women during the salem witch trials. the trial by fire tavern is the first place that you come to and is an excellant little pub for students to get a mug of butterbeer. |
